Just found a great article about a freight train graffiti artist who, through a New Yorker article learns that he’s been living with Asperger’s.
Parallel Rails: ICHABOD
By Caleb Neelon“One of the reasons that I do graffiti is to see it again later. Before I did graffiti, I felt lost in a sea of humans. Or sheep, as the case may be. But to do graffiti and come back to the spot, or especially to go to a different part of the country and see one of my freights roll by, it definitely is a reminder that I exist. I am here, I made a dent, I actually changed the environment in a slight way. And that change is still in effect. It is a confirmation that I exist. I don’t know that that addresses the word faith, but I think that’s close a rationale to why I do what I do.”
Interesting that he doesn’t paint over the alphanumerical codes anywhere on the cars
